Calgary Mentors (operated by Fat Monk Media, Calgary, Alberta) connects Calgarians for one-on-one mentoring. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
Your first name and, if you sign in with Apple, your email address. If you create a mentor profile, we collect the voice recording you make, its transcript, and the profile text generated from it. If you book a session, we collect the session details and — through our payment processor Stripe — payment information (we never see your card number). If you enable notifications, we store a device token to send booking reminders.
Only to run the service: creating your profile, matching you with mentors or learners, processing session payments, running video calls, and sending reminders. Voice recordings are used solely to draft your profile — they are transcribed by a speech-to-text service and summarized by an AI writing assistant. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Service providers who run parts of the app: Supabase (database and storage), Stripe (payments and mentor identity verification), Daily (video calls), and AI providers for transcription and profile writing (ElevenLabs / OpenAI / Anthropic). Each receives only what it needs. Your phone number and email are never shown to other users — all contact stays inside the app.
You can edit your profile at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the app (You → Delete my account) — this removes your recordings, profile, and login. You can also email us to request deletion.
We keep your data while your account is active. Booking records may be retained after account deletion in anonymized form for accounting.
Calgary Mentors is not directed at children under 13, and learners must be able to enter a valid mentoring arrangement.
